Apprenticeship-to-Career Empowerment

Apprenticeship-to-Career Empowerment

Kick-Start your career by earning a credential in as little as 12 weeks while building your resume by earning $15/hr in a paid work experience. This program offers tuition assistance, preparation to start work, and a paid work experience with a Hillsborough County employer. Industries will include IT, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Finance.

Background

CareerSource Tampa Bay (CSTB) is excited to announce a continued partnership with the Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to implement the Apprenticeship-to-Career Empowerment Program (ACE) set to launch its third year in October 2022.

The ACE program is increasing the age requirement to include adults up to 29 years old, which should allow CSTB to service more young adults in Hillsborough County. The ACE Program is seeking Hillsborough young adults ages 18 to 29 to connect them to short-term occupational skills training that will result in industry-recognized certifications, a meaningful work experience with a local employer, and a career pathway for a brighter future. Income eligibility will be a requirement of services.

The program is designed to reach out to young adults in low-income households, especially those exiting the foster care system and those escaping from human trafficking, to connect them with apprenticeship opportunities and occupational skills training. These opportunities serve as meaningful work experiences with local employers and will result in industry-recognized certifications and a pathway for a brighter future.

• 18-29 years of age
• Hillsborough County Resident
• Meet U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the US
